About the role
Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented accountant to support its portfolio of vacation‑rental clients. You will work remotely with a collaborative team, delivering accurate financial reporting and helping clients improve their financial operations.
Key responsibilities
- Manage full‑cycle accounting for multiple clients, including AP/AR, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, and month‑end close.
- Prepare, review and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and address any discrepancies proactively.
- Perform job costing, project accounting and budget‑to‑actual analysis as required.
- Support tax compliance by preparing documentation, coordinating with external tax advisors and assisting audit requests.
- Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams, providing insights to enhance financial operations.
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.
Required profile
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and U.S. GAAP.
- Fluent English (B2+) and comfortable communicating with high‑profile clients.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, growth‑mindset environment.
- Availability 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
- Willingness to work as an independent contractor.
