Senior Security Incident Responder

About the role

Join Akamai’s InfoSec Threat and Vulnerability Management team as a Senior Security Incident Responder. You will lead investigations of complex security incidents, work closely with product and platform teams, and help shape the company’s security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth investigations of data breaches, malware infections, unauthorized access attempts and related incidents.
• Identify root causes, assess impact scope, and coordinate remediation across affected systems.
• Monitor internal infrastructure and customer events using central alerting and graphing systems.
• Collaborate with security, product, and platform teams to improve defenses and prevent future incidents.
• Oversee vulnerability identification and resolution arising from security incidents.
• Provide training and guidance to teammates on incident handling, gaps, and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in information security, with a high school diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 4‑6 years focused on digital forensics, incident response, intrusion detection, or network/application security.
• Strong knowledge of operating system internals (macOS, Linux, Windows) and networking fundamentals.

Required skills

• Forensic tools: Sleuthkit, Axiom, Magnet, EnCase, FTK, Autopsy.
• Endpoint detection and response platforms: SentinelOne, CrowdStrike.
• Experience with traditional endpoint, network, perimeter, and EDR solutions.
