Senior II Security Incident Responder

About the role

Join Akamai’s InfoSec Threat and Vulnerability Management team to investigate and remediate security incidents across a global infrastructure. You will work closely with product and platform teams, applying cutting‑edge forensic techniques to protect both internal systems and customer data.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth investigations of data breaches, malware infections, unauthorized access attempts and related incidents.
• Identify root causes, assess impact scope, and coordinate remediation actions.
• Monitor internal infrastructure and customer events using central alerting and graphing systems.
• Collaborate with security, product, and platform teams to improve defenses and prevent future incidents.
• Provide training and guidance on incident handling, gaps, and associated risks.

Required profile

• 12 + years of experience in information security, with 6‑8 years focused on digital forensics and incident response.
• Relevant certifications such as CHFI, CISSP, GCFA, GCIH, GIAC, or EnCE.
• Strong knowledge of operating‑system internals (macOS, Linux, Windows) and networking fundamentals.

Required skills

• Proficiency with endpoint detection and response tools (e.g., SentinelOne, CrowdStrike).
• Hands‑on experience using forensic analysis tools such as Sleuthkit, Axiom, Magnet, EnCase, FTK, and Autopsy.
• Expertise in intrusion detection, network and application security.
• Ability to analyze digital evidence and produce clear investigative reports.
