Senior Backend Software Engineer – Control Plane & Orchestration

About the role

SimSpace is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to own and evolve the control plane and orchestration engine that powers its internet simulation platform. You will design and implement the core API surface, event‑driven coordination layer, and deployment model that keep a complex, multi‑tenant system reliable across many concurrent simulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the control‑plane API used by external systems.
• Build an event‑driven backbone that synchronises actions across subsystems.
• Design deployment and operational models for multi‑tenant, high‑availability environments.
• Ensure correctness, scalability, and observability of distributed components.
• Collaborate with simulation‑layer engineers to integrate new services and topologies.

Required profile

• Senior‑level software engineer with a strong focus on distributed systems.
• Demonstrated ability to build reliable, production‑grade backend services.
• Experience with operational rigor, monitoring, and troubleshooting in complex environments.
