Senior Backend Engineer – Remote – Latin America

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale a cutting‑edge platform that blends cloud infrastructure, data intelligence, and artificial intelligence. You will work remotely with a small, highly collaborative team, taking ownership of architecture, technical direction, and product outcomes for enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript, Node.js, Express, Python, and FastAPI.
• Build and optimise databases, data‑processing workflows, and cloud‑native solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Integrate with AI platforms and large language models such as OpenAI, Gemini, and Anthropic.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to define technical solutions and deliver impactful features.
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of a growing platform.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues while enhancing observability and monitoring.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and shape the technical direction of the platform.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, Express, Python, and FastAPI.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL schema design, query optimisation, and performance tuning.
• Proven ability to design and maintain scalable, production‑grade distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud environments.
• Familiarity with serverless architectures and cloud‑native services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast‑paced environment.
