Engineering Manager – Intern Programs & Quality

About the role

OfficeSpace is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead four interconnected areas – the intern program, an intern‑staffed maintenance team, Quality Engineering, and Solutions Engineering. You will guide people at all career stages, from university interns to senior technical ICs, while partnering with team leads on technical direction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop teams across the intern program, maintenance, QE, and SE, setting clear goals and development plans.
• Own the end‑to‑end intern experience, from university recruiting to conversion and off‑boarding.
• Run the operating model for the intern‑staffed maintenance team, prioritising bugs, performance issues and technical debt.
• Drive QE priorities, including performance testing with k6 and monitoring with Grafana.
• Build a shared operating view across QE, maintenance, SE and the intern program using metrics and AI‑assisted analysis.
• Shape quarterly OKRs, represent the teams in engineering planning and QBRs, and continuously improve workflows.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience managing engineers or technical teams across multiple disciplines.
• Strong software engineering foundation with credibility in quality, performance and customer‑facing conversations.
• Experience recruiting, coaching and developing early‑career talent, including running internship or apprenticeship programs.
• Practical fluency with AI tools to augment workflow speed, quality and decision support.
• Strong analytical judgment to turn operational metrics into clear priorities.
