Mid/Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the role

Coforge is hiring a Mid/Senior Full Stack Engineer in San José, Costa Rica, on a hybrid basis of 2-3 days per week on site. The role covers end-to-end feature ownership across backend and frontend, from design and development through deployment and production support.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and own end-to-end features across backend and frontend layers, including production support.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices with Java and Spring Boot, while contributing to frontend development mainly with React.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, production troubleshooting and operational automation using Python and Bash.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor and Claude Code to speed up coding, testing, debugging and documentation while keeping code quality and security.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Java skills and understanding of object-oriented design.
• Hands-on experience with microservices, RESTful APIs and relational or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB).
• Frontend experience with React or similar frameworks, including JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Unit and integration testing with JUnit, Mockito or Jest.
• CI/CD, Docker and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• Python and Bash scripting, strong production debugging and Git workflows.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and LLM tools, able to review and validate AI-generated code.
• Preferred: Go, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry), AI-powered features and independent ownership of features.
