Lead Data Engineer – Databricks (Remote)

About the role

We partner with global enterprises to design and scale data platforms that power products used by millions. As a Lead Data Engineer focusing on Databricks, you will provide technical leadership, own architecture, and mentor a team while staying hands‑on.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the technical direction and architecture of data engineering initiatives.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, production‑grade data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, AWS, Python and SQL.
• Lead by example through hands‑on coding, code reviews, and making critical technical decisions.
• Mentor and guide data engineers, promoting clean code, best practices and high engineering standards.
• Drive architectural discussions, evaluate trade‑offs and shape long‑term technical vision.
• Collaborate closely with product, data and engineering stakeholders to deliver enterprise‑scale data solutions.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Data Engineer or similar position.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Willingness to work remotely with at least a 6‑hour overlap with U.S. Pacific, Central or Eastern business hours.
