Finance Director

About the role

The Finance Director leads the school’s financial management and controllership activities, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and strong alignment with strategic priorities. Working closely with the School Leadership Team, Regional and Group Finance, the role provides high‑quality financial insights to support effective decision‑making and long‑term financial sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close, delivering timely management accounts, financial statements and performance reports for internal and group stakeholders.
• Oversee statutory accounts in compliance with local GAAP, IFRS and Group policies, and manage all internal and external audit processes.
• Maintain and strengthen financial and compliance controls to reduce risk and ensure data integrity.
• Prepare and review key financial reports, including cash‑flow, capex, KPIs and variance analyses, to support operational decisions.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and multi‑year financial planning aligned with strategic priorities.
• Manage cash‑flow planning and working‑capital to ensure liquidity and operational continuity.
• Oversee procurement and contract management, leading negotiations, vendor performance evaluation and cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Build strong partnerships with school leadership, regional finance and budget holders, providing clear financial insights and business cases.
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure payroll processing, tax compliance and adherence to local regulations in coordination with HR and operations.
