Cloud Engineer – AWS & FinOps

About the role

World Kinect is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, operate, and optimize modern AWS platforms while driving cost‑efficiency through FinOps practices. You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and financially accountable cloud solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage secure, highly available AWS environments.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Operate core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Load Balancers, Auto Scaling, and container platforms.
• Create and support CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and operational workflows with scripting and automation tools.
• Monitor platforms using observability tools and address performance, availability, and reliability issues.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Apply FinOps best practices to monitor, analyze, and optimize AWS spend, including rightsizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, storage tiering, and network optimization.
• Develop cost dashboards and enforce tagging and cost‑allocation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure management.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automating cloud workflows.
• Familiarity with FinOps concepts and cloud cost‑optimization techniques.
