Back End Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Development Manager – Back‑End Engineering to lead a growing team of backend engineers and drive the evolution of our platform toward a modern, scalable architecture. The role blends people leadership, hiring excellence, and deep technical judgment, while leveraging AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performance backend engineering team, fostering ownership and a strong culture.
• Own end‑to‑end hiring, onboarding, and talent development to continuously raise the technical bar.
• Guide architectural decisions for asynchronous, event‑driven, microservice or modular monolith systems that are performant, observable, and maintainable.
• Balance speed, quality, and maintainability while managing trade‑offs between legacy migration and new builds.
• Champion AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex), defining best practices that keep code quality, security, and correctness intact.
• Set high standards for testing, observability, and reliability to meet low‑latency, high‑throughput requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading backend engineering teams and hiring top talent.
• Strong technical credibility with deep knowledge of scalable, distributed system design.
• Ability to make pragmatic architectural trade‑offs and drive migration from legacy to modern stacks.
• Experience adopting AI‑assisted development tools and integrating them into engineering workflows.
• Excellent communication and people‑management skills.
