Applications Support Senior Analyst

About the role

Citi is seeking a senior analyst to provide technical and business support for critical reference data applications that underpin its global banking operations. The role involves maintaining production stability, driving automation, and collaborating with development, infrastructure and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Citi users, resolve daily queries, and improve stability, efficiency and risk management.
• Manage critical incidents, prioritize, escalate, communicate with stakeholders and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Support system changes, application releases, infrastructure maintenance and business continuity testing.
• Maintain and enhance production monitoring/observability tools and implement proactive alerting.
• Identify and implement automation to reduce operational toil and improve resilience.
• Develop and keep up‑to‑date technical documentation, runbooks and recovery procedures.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in application support for high‑volume, mission‑critical financial systems.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently in complex, high‑stakes environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of explaining technical issues to non‑technical audiences.
• Proven ability to assess risk, ensure compliance and act as a subject‑matter expert for production stability.

Required skills

• Unix/Linux operating systems and advanced shell scripting.
• Enterprise monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos and AppDynamics.
• Log aggregation platforms like Splunk and ELK.
• Container platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes).
• Relational databases (Oracle, MSSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Messaging solutions (Tibco EMS, MQ, Kafka).
• Familiarity with Grafana for visualization.
