Apigee Developer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Apigee Developer to design, develop, secure and manage enterprise‑grade APIs. The role will focus on building API proxies, supporting migration from Apigee to Envoy or Gloo Gateway, and integrating with Kubernetes‑based microservices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain API proxies and gateway configurations in Apigee X/Hybrid.
• Lead migration projects from Apigee to Envoy or Gloo Gateway, including re‑creating policies and traffic management.
• Configure API security mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, API keys and mTLS.
• Work with IBM DataPower, backend services and microservices applications.
• Deploy and operate API solutions in Kubernetes clusters.
• Collaborate with Architecture, DevOps and Engineering teams to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimise API throughput.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Apigee API Management (Apigee X/Hybrid).
• Proven experience migrating APIs to Envoy or Gloo Gateway.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes, containerised environments and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of API security standards (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS) and REST/JSON/XML specifications.
