Specialist, Payroll Tax - Bilingual

About the role

This position is responsible for monitoring, reconciling, and supporting payroll tax compliance across multiple states and entities on a pay‑period basis. The specialist acts as a subject‑matter expert for tax filings, reporting, and reconciliation with third‑party tax vendors and government agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile payroll taxes after each pay period and review all statutory tax correspondence.
• Prepare and review tax filings such as 941s, W‑2s, and other required forms.
• Support quarter‑end and year‑end tax reporting processes, including the preparation of W‑2s.
• Maintain payroll‑related tax accounts within third‑party tax vendor systems and create specialized tax reports.
• Collaborate with Finance on payroll tax accruals, journal entries, and account structure revisions.
• Perform internal audits of payroll tax data and prepare materials for internal and external auditors.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, tax equalization rules, and recommend process improvements or new technologies.
• Represent the Payroll Tax team on special projects and research initiatives.

Required profile

• Bilingual proficiency (English and French).
• Experience in multi‑state, multi‑entity payroll tax compliance.
• FPC or CPP designation preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work closely with Finance, HRIS, and Payroll teams.

• Third‑party tax vendor software (e.g., tax filing platforms).
• Knowledge of payroll tax filings such as 941 and W‑2.
