Head Accountant – Remote (LATAM)

About the role

MAVIMAVI is seeking an experienced Head Accountant to lead the finance function of a high‑growth U.S. company. The position is fully remote, based in Latin America, and reports directly to the founders, CEO, and senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the monthly, quarterly and annual close, ensuring calendar adherence, high‑quality output and efficient cycle times.
• Prepare and stand behind the P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements for the CEO and board.
• Lead the internal accounting team and manage external accounting, tax and finance partners, enforcing agreed standards and deadlines.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, approval workflows and reporting standards appropriate to the company’s stage.
• Handle multi‑entity accounting, consolidation and group reporting.
• Drive the annual audit process and act as the primary point of contact for auditors.
• Build and maintain close checklists, investigate variances to root cause and redesign processes that no longer serve the business.

Required profile

• Senior‑level finance professional with a proven track record of owning the full accounting function in a high‑growth environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, communicate proactively and balance detailed execution with strategic oversight.
• Experience collaborating directly with founders, CEOs and board members.
• Comfortable operating remotely outside the United States while maintaining high visibility and accountability.
