Senior IT Project Manager / Scrum Master

About the role

PetSmart is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager / Scrum Master to lead technical programs that deliver business‑critical solutions. The role will work from the Costa Rica office in a hybrid setting, partnering with cross‑functional teams to ensure organized, predictable, and managed change across our technology landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate complex, cross‑functional IT projects from initiation through delivery.
• Coach and mentor a team of analysts, QA, and engineering staff on Agile and Scrum principles.
• Facilitate Project Leadership Team and Steering Committee meetings, managing scope, schedule, and communications.
• Identify risks early, develop contingency plans, and remove roadblocks to keep projects on track.
• Guide the design, development, support, and implementation of business capabilities and sustainable solutions.
• Develop and maintain PM/SM frameworks and ensure alignment with enterprise strategies.
• Manage day‑to‑day project budgets, contracts, and statements of work, leveraging SAP for expense tracking.

Required profile

• 5‑8+ years of experience delivering large‑scale retail or technology projects.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and foster a culture of trust and collaboration.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and project governance best practices.
• Experience with budgeting, expense management, and SAP preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
