Android Developer – Kotlin, Kiosk & Peripheral Integration

About the role

We are looking for an Android Developer passionate about building secure, high‑performing mobile applications. You will work on native Kotlin apps for managed devices, kiosk‑mode environments and integrate hardware peripherals to deliver seamless user experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin.
• Build and support apps running on managed Android devices and kiosk‑mode environments.
• Implement and customize WebView‑based solutions, including JavaScript and CSS injection.
• Develop secure mobile applications following industry‑standard security practices.
• Integrate and support peripheral devices such as barcode scanners and receipt printers.
• Implement session management features, including inactivity monitoring and automatic logout.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise application performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, UX/UI and Engineering teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with security, performance, accessibility and usability standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experience developing native Android applications with Kotlin.
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, application lifecycle and architecture components.
• Experience with managed Android devices and kiosk‑mode environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Android WebView, JavaScript and CSS injection.
• Knowledge of secure mobile application development and mobile security best practices.
• Experience integrating peripheral devices such as barcode scanners and printers.
• Experience implementing user session management and automatic logout functionality.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging and performance optimisation skills.
• Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
