Senior Android Engineer

About the role

Experian is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to evolve its flagship Android native application. You will work closely with product, design and engineering teams to deliver new features, improve code quality and enhance the overall user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement new features and improvements for Experian’s Android app.
• Write clean, efficient code in Kotlin and Java using Android SDK and Android Studio.
• Perform code reviews, ensure quality through testing and continuous integration.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements and integrate REST APIs and third‑party services.
• Debug issues, optimise performance and scalability, and build high‑quality UI components following design standards.
• Stay current with Android trends and promote best development practices.
• Mentor junior developers and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, with solid Java skills.
• Proficiency with Android SDK, Android Studio and modern development tools.
• Experience working with REST APIs, third‑party libraries and knowledge of GraphQL.
• Ability to guide and train junior developers.
