BTP Controls Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Controls Engineer to join our BTP (building and public works) team. The role focuses on reviewing and validating customer‑supplied electrical and controls documentation to support quoting, cost estimation and post‑award production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer electrical and controls documents for completeness, identify missing or conflicting information, and communicate findings.
• Provide electrical and controls labor estimates and support cost book development.
• Perform detailed post‑award reviews to validate documentation before production release.
• Validate the controls/electrical portion of the BOM and ensure alignment with project documentation.
• Identify and communicate risks, discrepancies and scope changes, and generate formal change notifications.
• Coordinate with execution site engineering teams to convey technical requirements.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineer, Documentation Review Engineer, Procurement and Project Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or controls engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in control system design, electrical documentation review, or similar role within custom automation or manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with safety standards for industrial automation equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
