Technical Support Engineer

About the role

Join Akamai's Microsegmentation Support team as a Technical Support Engineer. This junior position is ideal for candidates with foundational Linux, Docker, and Ansible knowledge who want hands‑on experience in cloud services and production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor system health during shifts to ensure availability and performance.
• Identify incidents, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate according to procedures.
• Document incidents, steps taken, and outcomes clearly.
• Assist in maintaining and improving monitoring tools such as Grafana, GroundCover, and DataDog.
• Follow predefined runbooks to handle events consistently.

Required profile

• Foundational knowledge of Linux administration (filesystems, permissions, processes, networking basics).
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (containers, pods, logs, basic troubleshooting).
• Basic understanding of Ansible concepts.
• Familiarity with command‑line tools, SSH, and common system utilities.
• Ability to follow procedures, work a shift‑based schedule, and communicate effectively.
