Team Lead, Accounts Payable

About the role

The Team Lead, Accounts Payable leads and monitors the Accounts Payable team within the Procure to Pay department at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The role ensures accurate invoice processing and timely payment of key and strategic suppliers, supports team members in resolving complex AP queries, and helps maintain a committed team meeting its objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with daily operations through meetings, audits, reports and controls, and guide team members toward operational performance targets.
• Supervise workload allocation, including the distribution and follow-up of supplier and internal customer queries.
• Review and support the processing and payment of supplier invoices, and take ownership of escalations until resolved.
• Help resolve complex AP queries and disputes, such as missing or blocked invoices, discrepancies and payment or remittance issues.
• Coordinate with internal teams to investigate AP issues requiring more information or action, and monitor open or recurring queries.
• Act as the point of contact in internal and external audits, and perform random reviews of selected payments.
• Apply the PPI methodology to propose improvements and support the manager in implementing strategies and guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree related to the position and/or 4 years of experience in similar roles.
• Shared Service Centers experience.
• B2+ English level.
• Customer-focused mindset, continuous improvement, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Required skills

• MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel (intermediate).
• ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, JDEdwards, Mainframe).
