Supply Chain Director

About the role

The Supply Chain Director will lead the end‑to‑end supply chain function for a medical device company in Alajuela. This senior position is responsible for aligning procurement, planning, warehousing, logistics and supplier management with production needs, regulatory compliance and cost‑optimization goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic supply chain plans that support company objectives and drive cost reductions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts and monitor performance.
• Oversee inventory levels, implement controls to improve accuracy and reduce excess or obsolete stock.
• Manage logistics and distribution, coordinating transportation, warehousing and delivery schedules.
• Ensure compliance with medical‑device regulatory standards and implement quality control measures.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with manufacturing, sales and other departments to resolve supply chain challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of supply chain management experience in medical devices or other regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical‑device manufacturing.
• Proven leadership and team‑development experience.
