Senior UX Lead (Contractor, 4 Months)

About the role

A client in the specialty food industry needs a Senior UX Lead for a 4-month engagement covering the program from kickoff through launch and hypercare. The role is an individual contributor who owns user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, prototyping and usability testing, with most work concentrated in the Discovery, Definition and Design phases. It sits within a specialist experience layer that joins and leaves a small, senior core team depending on the phase.

Key responsibilities

• Define user journeys for the program during the Discovery and Definition phases.
• Structure the information architecture of the solution.
• Produce wireframes that turn journeys and structure into screen-level design.
• Build prototypes in Figma to validate design decisions before they move forward.
• Plan and run usability testing and apply the findings to the design.
• Work with the Experience Lead, Product Manager, Technical Architect and Program/Scrum Manager to keep UX decisions aligned with product, architecture and delivery.

Required profile

• 7-8+ years of experience in UX design.
• Experience acting as UX lead or owning UX direction on a project as an individual contributor.
• Ability to work in a small, senior team alongside product, architecture and delivery management roles.

Required skills

• User journey definition and mapping, using tools such as FigJam or Miro.
• Information architecture design.
• Wireframes and interactive prototypes in Figma.
• Planning and running usability tests and applying findings to design.
• Nice to have: complex prototyping in Axure, card sorting and tree testing with Optimal Workshop, usability testing with Maze, UserTesting, Lookback or UsabilityHub, and familiarity with Jira and Confluence in Scrum delivery.
