About the role

SimSpace is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join its engineering team in Costa Rica. The role works closely with the U.S.-based engineering organization and focuses on raising quality across complex, distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

Define and execute the quality strategy for the engineering organization.
Influence engineering practices to improve quality rather than only writing automated tests.
Collaborate daily with software engineers, product managers, and Site Reliability Engineers to ensure systems are observable, testable and resilient.
Identify risks and potential issues early to prevent production incidents.
Partner with U.S. teams, requiring strong real‑time English communication.

Required profile

Experienced senior‑level SDET with a focus on quality engineering.
Ability to think critically about risk and reliability.
Strong English communication skills for near‑shore collaboration.
