Senior Project Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant supports the end-to-end accounting lifecycle within FOAA Digital, combining operational accounting execution with financial system launch coordination. The role safeguards controllership integrity across month-end close processes and acts as the accounting subject matter expert during new business and system implementations, bridging accounting operations, technology and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute month-end close activities, including sub-ledger closing, general ledger reconciliations, balance sheet analysis and financial reporting
• Prepare and deliver month-over-month flux analysis for P&L and balance sheet accounts, identifying root causes and communicating variances to stakeholders
• Lead the accounting validation workstream for new business and system launches, including UAT coordination, test case execution, results documentation and discrepancy resolution
• Review and validate accounting records, chart of accounts configurations and journal entry flows before production launch
• Document, maintain and improve financial policies, procedures and internal controls
• Collaborate with technology, operations and finance teams to resolve findings from testing, pre-launch reviews and ongoing operations
• Build and maintain team tools, SOPs and process documentation, and identify automation opportunities
• Track project deliverables, manage timelines, escalate risks and report progress to leadership
• Support GRC compliance activities and Risk Control Assessments, and communicate financial findings to senior management

Required profile

• 3+ years of transactional accounting experience (month-end close, sub-ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation and reporting)
• Accounting degree or related field
• Experience supporting financial or accounting system implementation projects and reviewing records before launch
• Experience in UAT execution, including test case coordination and result documentation
• B2 English level (written and verbal)
• Full-time onsite work at Amazon offices, 5 days per week

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, data analysis, reporting)
• Preferred: Oracle Financial Applications (GL, AP, AR) and Blackline
• Preferred: process automation, Six Sigma, intercompany transactions and Chart of Accounts knowledge
