DME Collections Specialist II

About the role

Solventum, a new healthcare company combining medical, materials and data science, is hiring a DME Collections Specialist II. The role involves reconciling initial accounts receivable and order-entry exceptions so that invoices are accurate and payments are made promptly, in line with the company's business practices and time-sensitive guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and reconcile initial accounts receivable and order entry exceptions to ensure accurate invoicing.
• Prompt payment within business practice and time-sensitive guidelines.
• Perform medical insurance collections and manage accounts receivable for healthcare claims, ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement.
• Initiate and follow up on short-payment appeals and medical appeals to resolve underpaid and denied claims.
• Analyze and interpret Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) to identify discrepancies, denial reasons and payment variances.
• Make outbound calls to payors to resolve claim issues, verify coverage and negotiate reimbursement.
• Investigate and resolve complex A/R discrepancies using analytical and basic accounting skills.
• Review payment postings, reconcile balances and track revenue.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and financial information in compliance with HIPAA.
• Use Microsoft Excel and Word to track appeals, document claim activity and generate reports.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Advanced English (C1).
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a medical healthcare setting.
• Ability to work remotely; travel may include up to 10%, and relocation assistance may be authorized.
• Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without a visa sponsorship.
