Senior Java Application Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Java Application Developer to join Walmart’s Finance Tech team. You will help design, build and maintain scalable Java‑based applications that support the company’s financial operations and digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy Java applications using Java 8+, Spring Boot and related technologies.
• Collaborate with architects and business analysts to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable code following SOLID principles and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance or reliability issues in production.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge across the team.
• Drive the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to automated deployment and monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional Java development experience (Java 8+).
• 3+ years of experience with Spring Boot, message brokers (Kafka, IBM MQ, ActiveMQ), REST APIs and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Proven ability to manage end‑to‑end SDLC and technical debt.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git version control and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
