Senior Financial Analyst – Global Financial Services (AWS)

About the role

Amazon’s Global Financial Services (GFS) team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support AWS services. The analyst will perform financial planning and analysis, build operational reports, and act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, delivering insights that drive decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and manage quantitative financial data to produce weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and forecasts.
• Lead controllership activities, identify control risks, evaluate impacts, and implement remediation improvements.
• Manage KPI reporting and analysis, partnering with stakeholders on strategic financial performance of AWS services.
• Monitor forecast accuracy, analyze variance drivers, and provide commentary for current and future periods.
• Lead weekly/monthly financial close, planning, and reporting model development while driving continuous innovation.
• Perform ad‑hoc business analyses, financial modeling, and present recommendations to senior management.

Required profile

• 4+ years applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
• 4+ years creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years leading opportunities to improve, automate, or standardize finance tools and processes.
• Advanced experience with SQL for data mining and business intelligence.

Required skills

• SQL (advanced use for data mining and reporting).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Data visualization tools such as Tableau (or similar BI tools).
• Experience with financial systems (Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, etc.).
