Senior ERP Engineer

About the role

Backcountry is seeking a Senior ERP Engineer to own the architecture and development of its ecommerce fulfillment systems. You will drive technical direction, integrate with enterprise‑scale ERP platforms, and leverage AI toolsets to accelerate delivery while partnering with product and engineering leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, document, and support ecommerce fulfillment systems.
• Use AI toolsets to improve engineering throughput, quality, and reliability.
• Share and evolve AI capabilities across teams, raising the bar for AI use.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to deliver scalable, user‑focused features.
• Champion modern engineering practices such as clean architecture, unit testing, automation, performance optimization, and observability.
• Break down large projects into manageable chunks, communicate status, and address dependencies.
• Influence architectural direction and propose improvements for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Create high‑quality documentation, including technical requirement documents, diagrams, and onboarding materials.
• Enhance reliability monitoring, alerting, and incident response for mission‑critical systems.
• Identify and simplify legacy components to reduce technical debt.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience with a strong ecommerce background.
• Hands‑on experience leveraging AI toolsets for productivity and development acceleration.
