Senior Cost Manager

About the role

The Senior Cost Manager will lead financial reporting, analysis, and cost accounting for assigned manufacturing sites within BD's global medical technology business. This role combines people leadership with hands‑on finance execution to ensure accurate, timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month‑end close, quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting and product costing for multiple sites.
• Manage balance‑sheet reconciliations, fixed‑asset accounting, and capital project tracking.
• Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, providing coaching, performance management and training.
• Partner with site and business stakeholders to deliver finance services, resolve issues and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and support transformation projects across the finance function.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, operations or process optimization.
• Proven people‑leadership experience with a focus on team development.
• Strong analytical abilities and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment and support global teams across time zones.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools (Power BI, PowerPoint).
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and/or JDE.
