Senior Cloud Data Engineer (AI Data Platform)

About the role

Teradyne, a global test and automation specialist, is hiring a Senior Cloud Data Engineer in Costa Rica to engineer the data solutions that power its enterprise AI implementations. Reporting to the Enterprise AI/Data Product Manager, you will design, build and operate the pipelines, models and integration frameworks that turn operational and product data into trusted, governed, AI-ready data products. The role is technical and delivery-focused, building multi-cloud data solutions with Microsoft Azure as the primary platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design scalable, AI-ready data solutions and build trusted data layers for Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, Vertex AI and Snowflake Cortex AI, including embedding, vector and retrieval pipelines for RAG workflows.
• Design and optimize multicloud data solutions across Azure, Google Cloud and AWS, using Microsoft Fabric and Snowflake, and build scalable ELT/ETL pipelines from APIs, databases, files, SaaS apps and streaming sources.
• Implement lakehouse and medallion architectures while balancing performance, security and cost.
• Support cataloging, lineage, quality, integration, profiling, cleansing and validation; advise on master data management with Semarchy; apply secure access controls, data classification and compliance safeguards.
• Build automated testing, monitoring and observability for pipeline health and data quality.
• Partner with architecture, product, business and operations teams, define reusable data engineering standards and mentor engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or a related field.
• 8 years of experience in data engineering focused on modern cloud projects that enable AI products and insights (RAG/embedding pipelines, semantic layers).
• Experience with data management platforms, lakehouse/medallion and dimensional data modeling, and CI/CD for data (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), testing and observability.
• Ability to mentor and upskill teams, strong collaboration and communication skills, and an analytical mindset focused on measurable outcomes.
