Senior Buyer Planner

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Buyer Planner to coordinate the procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment and supplies across the organization. The role ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency and alignment with project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze product and service requirements, including specifications, BOMs, project scopes and preferred suppliers.
• Place and manage purchase orders, negotiate terms, pricing and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, analyze costs and implement strategies to reduce expenses.
• Follow up on overdue orders, communicate material arrivals and reschedule deliveries as needed.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, operations, quality assurance and accounts payable to ensure a smooth procurement process.
• Resolve invoice disputes, process vendor returns and manage supplier performance metrics.
• Conduct market research, evaluate and select new suppliers, and maintain positive supplier relationships.
• Mentor junior Buyer/Planners, troubleshoot issues and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Assess engineering change impacts on supply chain costs and inventory, and propose mitigation plans.
• Support inventory management, NPI projects, dual‑sourcing, product transitions and end‑of‑life strategies.
• Identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks such as sole‑source exposure, capacity constraints and geopolitical factors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain planning, preferably at a senior level.
• Strong negotiation, cost‑analysis and supplier‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with finance, legal, operations and quality teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ethical approach to procurement.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and leading process‑improvement initiatives.
