Senior Architect

About the role

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Senior Architect to drive the technical vision of its digital ecosystem. The role involves collaborating with engineering teams to design scalable, resilient solutions that align with the company’s long‑term technology strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the holistic technical vision for Walmart’s digital platforms, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
• Partner with engineering squads to design and refine solutions across services, systems, and domains.
• Develop future‑state (“to‑be”) architectures at C3 and C4 levels, focusing on scalability and sustainability.
• Document architectural decisions, trade‑offs, and standards to guide consistent implementation.
• Promote technology standards, design patterns, and solution guidelines across teams.
• Coordinate technical initiatives, set goals, track progress, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Identify improvement opportunities and foster continuous learning.
• Mentor and coach associates, supporting their career development.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in software development, architecture, or site reliability engineering.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to influence without formal authority.
• Proven ability to work in complex, cross‑functional environments.
• Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning.

Required skills

• Modern software architecture and distributed systems.
• Design patterns, domain‑driven design, and evolutionary architecture concepts.
• Experience with large‑scale or enterprise environments (nice to have).
