Senior AI Engineer

About the role

Harris is building a small AI engineering team in Costa Rica to modernize its platform and add AI capabilities across clinical and revenue‑cycle workflows. As a Senior AI Engineer you will write production‑grade code, design AI agents and help guide mid‑level engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI agents and multi‑agent workflows using LangChain/LangGraph, including tool calling, state management and human‑in‑the‑loop steps.
• Develop Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, LiteLLM routing, and API gateway features such as authentication, rate limiting and PHI redaction.
• Write production code in Python.NET (C#) and TypeScript, with unit tests, code reviews and documentation.
• Integrate AI components with CareTracker services and healthcare data sources (Oracle, Postgres, HL7, FHIR) while complying with HIPAA.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience, including Python and REST API design.
• Strong background in cloud services (Azure preferred), CI/CD, containers and Git.
• Experience building applications with large language models and AI agents.
• Ability to mentor mid‑level engineers and lead features end‑to‑end.
