Senior Accounting Analyst, Finance Operations Accounting & Analysis

About the role

The Senior Accounting Analyst will lead month‑end closing activities, ensure accurate account balances for Amazon, and support financial reporting, audit, and SOX compliance across multiple geographies. The role focuses on driving process innovation and delivering high‑quality financial analysis in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end activities, including sub‑ledger closures, general ledger reconciliations, and balance‑sheet analysis.
• Review Amazon account balances, flag issues, and ensure corrective actions.
• Maintain documented financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Respond to internal and external audit requests and ensure SOX compliance.
• Resolve complex accounting issues and implement robust process controls.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives to enhance reconciliation quality and efficiency.
• Build and monitor performance metrics for timely delivery of reports and reconciliations.
• Communicate monthly metrics to Director and VP‑level finance partners.
• Participate in strategic projects and lead cross‑functional system improvements.

Required profile

• CPA equivalent with 6+ years of post‑qualification experience in month‑end closing and balance‑sheet reconciliation.
• Strong accounting knowledge and problem‑solving abilities.
• Demonstrated commitment to operational excellence and process simplification.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, etc.).
