Analyst, Customer Service (US Payroll/Tax)

About the role

The Analyst, Customer Service (US Payroll/Tax) ensures accuracy and quality in Baxter's payroll tax function. You will handle tax setup, withholding, reporting, reconciliation, and compliance across federal, state, local and Puerto Rico jurisdictions, supporting seamless payroll operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with payroll tax inquiries for employees via phone, chat, email, and ticketing systems.
• Manage the setup and maintenance of employee tax profiles, covering federal, state, local, county, city, school district and other applicable withholding requirements.
• Review payroll data to confirm accurate tax withholdings, taxable wages, deductions and employer tax liabilities before final processing.
• Prepare, review and submit payroll tax payments, returns and filings on monthly, quarterly and annual schedules.
• Reconcile payroll tax reports, wage records, general‑ledger data and third‑party tax provider reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, human resources or a related field (preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience in payroll, tax, accounting, finance, HR operations or customer support.
• Basic understanding of U.S. federal, state and local tax regulations, Social Security and Medicare.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to examine data for accuracy and thoroughness.
• Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information with discretion.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and standard office applications.
• Experience using payroll HRIS or tax filing systems (preferred).
