Security Build Specialist

About the role

Cisco is hiring three Security Build Specialists to expand its Splunk Security Specialist team, which drives technical enablement through its "Boss of the SOC" (BOTS) program. The team turns product features into real-world educational experiences and works with researchers, storytellers and educators across global markets. The role focuses on building and delivering workshops and demos that show the value of Splunk and Cisco's security portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver high-impact workshops and demos that demonstrate the value of Splunk and Cisco's security portfolio.
• Help develop end-to-end BOTS scenarios to sharpen incident response skills for customers and partners worldwide.
• Work with Product, Engineering and Marketing teams to align technical content with business goals and global sales plays.
• Write thought leadership pieces and present at large-scale industry events to build technical authority.
• Achieve a 5% increase in security adoption metrics and keep participant feedback at 4.5/5 or higher.

Required profile

• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in security operations, incident response or threat hunting.
• Proven experience designing and delivering technical workshops, labs or hands-on security exercises.
• Technical writing experience creating lab guides, documentation or educational presentations.
• Preferred: experience managing gamified learning programs (BOTS, CTF, cyber ranges); active certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, GIAC or Splunk credentials; background in pre-sales engineering, detection engineering or security research; strong public speaking skills.

Required skills

• Hands-on proficiency with Splunk Enterprise Security, SOAR or an equivalent SIEM/SOAR platform.
• Scripting with Python, Terraform or Ansible for environment automation.
