Road Logistics Team Lead – Global Services

About the role

As a Road Logistics Team Lead within Kuehne+Nagel Global Services, you will drive daily transportation operations, ensure service excellence, and develop your team to meet business goals. You will work across national and dedicated road logistics, supporting the movement of diverse goods worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support daily transportation operations, guaranteeing compliance with service levels and customer requirements.
• Coordinate load planning to maximise equipment utilisation, routing efficiency and service performance.
• Monitor operational and individual KPIs, implementing improvements in productivity, quality and response times.
• Identify operational risks, capacity constraints and process inefficiencies, applying corrective and preventive actions.
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational and customer‑related issues.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members through regular feedback, performance discussions and training.
• Allocate workload and resources effectively to meet business demand.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, compliance requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, process owners and business partners to maintain alignment and customer satisfaction.
• Prepare and present performance reports, highlighting trends, opportunities and recommendations.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and employee engagement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of road logistics transportation operations.
• Experience with shipment entry, load planning, open‑dock management and delivery request processes.
• Leadership experience in logistics, transportation or supply‑chain environments.
• Customer‑service orientation with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
