Reliability Engineer

About the role

The Reliability Engineer will develop and maintain systems that ensure product quality across machining, metal finishing and assembly processes. You will lead reliability studies, risk analyses and continuous improvement initiatives to meet Medtronic’s high standards for medical device performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate technical reliability studies, design of experiments (DOE) and statistical process control procedures.
• Conduct risk analysis (PFMEA) on new designs and processes, recommending improvements to reduce failure risk.
• Review engineering drawings, update gauging and inspection procedures, and document changes in the Manufacturing Engineering system.
• Design gauges and fixtures, lead gauge design reviews, and implement improved in‑process inspection methods.
• Analyze performance reports and process control statistics to identify variables affecting product quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 7+ years experience (or Master’s with 5+ years, PhD with 3+ years).
• Advanced English proficiency, both written and verbal.
• Ability to travel as required.

Required skills

• Statistical analysis tools (Minitab or equivalent).
• PFMEA, DOE, risk analysis, and statistical process control.
• Gauge and fixture design, GD&T knowledge.
• ASQ‑CQE certification (preferred).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher (preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
