Regional Sales Director - Latin America (Automotive)

About the role

BYD, a leading high-tech multinational and the world's largest New Energy Vehicle (NEV) company, is looking for an experienced, results-driven Regional Sales Director to lead its automotive sales across Latin America, excluding Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia. The role covers sales strategy, dealer and distributor management, performance reporting and close collaboration with marketing, product, finance, supply chain, production and logistics teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional sales strategies for automotive products, including vehicles and components, aligned with business objectives and targets.
• Drive market expansion by identifying new commercial opportunities, strengthening distribution channels and growing market share.
• Build long-term relationships with dealers, distributors, agents and key accounts, and lead commercial negotiations and strategic partnerships.
• Manage key customers and dealers, oversee daily communications and contract negotiations, and support dealer network development through product training and commercial guidance.
• Monitor market demand, competitors and customer preferences, and prepare regular sales reports, market assessments, forecasts and recommendations for senior management.
• Analyse sales data and KPIs, implement corrective actions and collaborate with regional and international teams on business strategy.
• Work with marketing, product, finance, supply chain, production, logistics and distribution teams to align commercial goals with operations and support timely order fulfilment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, International Trade or a related field.
• More than 10 years of proven sales experience in the automotive industry, including regional sales management, dealer network development and market expansion.
• Demonstrated experience managing automotive distribution networks, dealers and key accounts across Latin America, with a track record of meeting sales targets and developing new markets.
• Experience in the NEV or electric vehicle industry is highly desirable; only candidates with vehicle sales experience will be considered.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese or other languages is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel frequently across assigned markets and established professional networks in the automotive industry, corporate sector or government are highly desirable.
