Quality Manager

About the role

The Quality Manager is a senior leader for Samtec's Costa Rica manufacturing site, responsible for the HDR and Cable Manufacturing areas. The role ensures the site quality management system meets customer and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Manufacturing Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Quality Support staff, and Inspectors, setting goals and accountability.
• Maintain and improve the QMS in accordance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other standards; conduct internal audits and report key quality metrics.
• Act as primary quality contact for customers, managing audits, communications, and corrective actions.
• Partner with Process Engineering on PFMEA, with SQE on supplier audits, and support new product development using Six Sigma and lean tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years progressive quality experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or quality management role.
• Experience in a technical manufacturing environment, preferably with cable assemblies, electronics, or high‑frequency RF products.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management systems.
• Proficiency with PFMEA, control plans, MSA, SPC, 8D, root‑cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology.
