Python/GenAI Tech Lead

About the role

We are looking for a senior Python/GenAI Tech Lead to drive the design and delivery of AI‑enabled backend services for our clients. You will own the technical direction from discovery through production, ensuring clean, scalable code and seamless integration of large language models.

Key responsibilities

• Write production‑grade Python for AI integrations, backend services, and RESTful APIs.
• Design, implement, and optimise Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for real‑world use cases.
• Build LLM‑based and agentic AI solutions that solve client business challenges.
• Lead technical pre‑sales activities, including discovery calls, proposals, scoping, and demos.
• Conduct architecture reviews, produce design documents, and define practice standards.
• Mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and share knowledge across the team.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor, maintaining strong relationships with key client stakeholders.

Required profile

• Full‑stack mindset comfortable with AI, backend development, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proactive, self‑directed, and able to own outcomes end‑to‑end.
• Excellent English communication skills for multicultural, distributed teams.
• Experience leading client engagements, translating ambiguous requirements into technical solutions, and managing scope, timelines, and budgets.
• 7+ years building and operating production systems, not just demos or POCs.

Required skills

• Python (OOP, design patterns, clean architecture, performance optimisation).
• RESTful API frameworks: FastAPI, Django REST, Flask.
• Testing: pytest, mocking, integration tests.
• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• LLM APIs: OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock.
• RAG system design and optimisation.
• AI/ML model deployment on AWS (SageMaker, Lambda, ECS, S3, SQS, ECR) or GCP.
• Frontend basics: React or Vue.
• Modern Python tooling (ruff, uv, pyproject.toml, pyright) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
