Python Developer (Remote)

About the role

In this contract position you will help train next‑generation AI systems by building and improving the backend services that power them. You’ll work remotely with a fast‑moving research team, providing high‑quality real‑world input that shapes how AI models learn and reason.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise REST and GraphQL endpoints for scalable APIs.
• Implement data validation, error handling and security best practices in backend services.
• Plan and execute database migrations, performance tuning and schema changes.
• Test new AI‑powered models in the Cursor environment and report incidents, bugs and screenshots.
• Participate in intensive 4‑day testing bursts to evaluate model impact on coding workflows.
• Collaborate with the research team via Slack, sharing findings and improvement ideas.
• Complete post‑burst surveys delivering insights on model performance and developer experience.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience, primarily with Python.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote, confidential setting.
• Enthusiasm for AI advancements in software development and willingness to test experimental tooling.
