Purchasing Team Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Purchasing Team Lead to build and manage our Costa Rica purchasing function supporting the production of the Globe® Pulsed Field System, a FDA‑approved medical device for atrial fibrillation. The role will be based in Cartago and will report to the head of Supply Chain Management in Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, lead, coach and mentor the local purchasing team.
• Oversee daily purchasing of direct and indirect materials, services and capital equipment for the manufacturing facility.
• Issue and track purchase orders to ensure uninterrupted supply for production schedules.
• Collaborate with Planning, Logistics and Inventory Management to maintain optimal inventory levels and safety stock.
• Monitor supplier performance, negotiate pricing, payment terms and service agreements, and drive cost‑saving initiatives.
• Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, lead‑time and purchasing data in the ERP system.
• Lead or support purchasing projects, continuous‑improvement activities and supplier qualification processes.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on leadership experience in purchasing or procurement within a regulated, fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on operational excellence.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for purchase order processing and data management.
