Project Engineer - Industrial Automation (Intermediate II)

About the role

Emerson is hiring a Project Engineer (Intermediate II) for its SYSS Engineering Group in Latin America, which delivers fully engineered control system solutions for power and process plants across the Americas. The role contributes to the design, implementation, testing, commissioning and optimization of industrial automation solutions, including Emerson's DeltaV, Ovation, Reliability and SCADA platforms, working with regional and global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and implement industrial automation and control system solutions for power and process applications.
• Maintain hardware configurations, databases, control strategies, graphics, communications interfaces and system integrations.
• Support the selection and application of hardware and software solutions, and review technical documentation for quality and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and execute project activities within quality, schedule and budget standards.
• Lead or support FAT, SAT, commissioning and plant startup; develop implementation and commissioning strategies.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate remote engineering teams, contractors and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, risks and budget, promote productivity tools and share knowledge and mentor team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience delivering industrial automation, DCS, PLC or SCADA projects, and 6 years supporting design, integration, testing, commissioning and startup.
• Ability to lead technical workstreams and coordinate project activities.
• B1 English with strong written and verbal communication; willingness to travel up to 60%.
• Preferred: experience with DeltaV, Ovation or Reliability Solutions, leading automation projects, FAT/SAT and commissioning, supervising contractors, Portuguese, and knowledge of retrofit and modernization projects.
