Production Supervisor IV

About the role

Abbott is hiring a Production Supervisor IV for its Coyol Free Zone location in the Vascular Division, which supplies minimally invasive, cost-effective products for the treatment of vascular disease. The supervisor leads a group of engineers, manages operations and collaborates with security and infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage a staffing plan: identify resource needs, write justifications for additional personnel, obtain approval for changes and coordinate selection with Human Resources.
• Develop direct reports through training, progressively challenging tasks, rewards and disciplinary action when appropriate.
• Train and certify staff on all critical assembly operations and understand all line PFM's.
• Monitor daily metrics and guide lower-level supervisors and skilled non-exempt staff toward unit or project goals.
• Retain responsibility for product from initial assembly to final distribution; schedule manufacturing lines to achieve 100% product availability and target inventory levels.
• Maintain daily communication with line personnel and regular contact with exempt-level staff, and keep a constant line presence.
• Ensure a safe environment with 100% training and compliance with applicable procedures.

Required profile

• B.S. in Engineering, Business or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience.
• Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting medical device manufacture (e.g. cGMPs and CFRs).
• Accountable for meeting quality, customer service and regulatory compliance standards, and for daily safety, quality and performance goals.
• Shift: Monday to Friday 3:15pm to 10:00pm, Saturday 7:00am to 2:30pm.
• Full bilingualism required.

• Preferred: industry or supervisory experience and direct exposure to operations.
• Ability to direct, train and motivate employees, and to make sound, timely decisions.
• Understanding of operations standards, documentation and safety, quality and performance goals.
