Production Supervisor III – Night Shift

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Production Supervisor III for its night shift (10 pm‑6 am, Monday‑Friday) at the Alajuela facility in Costa Rica. The role leads production teams in the Structural Heart Division, ensuring safety, quality, and volume targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Manage personnel scheduling, discipline, coaching, selection and training for production staff.
• Lead initiatives to maintain regulatory compliance (FDA, TUV, etc.) and report quality issues promptly.
• Develop and execute plans to achieve productivity, schedule adherence, quality, cost and service goals while maintaining a safe environment.
• Own the assigned production area and related zones (gowning, clean corridors), analyzing efficiency and compliance.
• Analyze production line indicators, ensure smooth shift transitions, and communicate progress through reports and daily meetings.

Required profile

• B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Administration or related field.
• 4‑5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in medical device, pharmaceutical or electronics manufacturing.
• Flexibility to work night shifts and adapt to different areas.

Required skills

• Proficiency with manufacturing data systems such as SFA, SAP or Kronos.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and quality systems (FDA, MDD).
• Certifications such as CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Coach or similar are desirable.
