Production Supervisor III – Manufacturing

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Production Supervisor III to lead one or more manufacturing lines in its Vascular Division located in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The role focuses on maximizing productivity, ensuring product quality, and maintaining compliance with all quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage staffing plans, coordinate with Human Resources, and oversee hiring and training of production personnel.
• Direct daily operations of assigned lines to achieve 100% product availability and meet inventory targets.
• Monitor production metrics, provide guidance to supervisors and skilled staff, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain product traceability and quality throughout assembly, ensuring full compliance with Abbott’s Quality System and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a safe work environment and enforce safety procedures on the shop floor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Administration or a related field.
• 4‑5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of regulations and standards applicable to medical device manufacturing.
• Proven leadership and influence skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
