Procurement Program Manager

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for a Procurement Program Manager who acts as an internal project manager within the procurement team and across a global network of divisions, groups, functions and categories. The role manages the program management and execution of procurement initiatives, working with business partners to design and implement new business solutions, and covers project planning, business cases, budgeting and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Define deliverable structures and content, and agree proposed solutions with functional, business unit and site leadership
• Manage multiple projects at once, keeping them on schedule and within budget, and monitor progress against plan versus actual
• Develop business cases through financial and options analysis, and define deliverables, resources and implementation plans
• Coordinate distributed project teams, run PMO sessions and facilitate issue resolution and risk management
• Track confidentiality commitments and clearances, and report on projects, pipeline and AOP financial targets
• Coordinate data inputs and reporting requirements across the function, and collaborate with Procurement Enablement on a single source of truth for the savings pipeline and inflation
• Lead global, cross-functional, geographically distributed teams and influence key partners to meet deadlines

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or Science; MBA desirable
• Certification in Project Management desirable; CIPS/APICS or equivalent preferred
• Seven plus years managing complex, global programs and project initiatives, preferably in Procurement, Supply Chain, Sourcing or Category Management
• Life Sciences, BioTech or Pharma experience preferred; process improvement background (PPI, Lean, Six Sigma) preferred
• Able to travel 10-30% per year

• Financial competence and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with senior leadership and lead matrix teams virtually
