Plant SCADA Engineer – Automation & Control Systems

About the role

The Plant SCADA Engineer will design, program, install, and test automation systems that integrate multiple subsystems for renewable energy and power utility clients. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will lead technical efforts while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Review, create, and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and project documentation.
• Develop SCADA point lists, RTU programs, HMIs, meter programs, and related calculations.
• Program, install, troubleshoot, test, and commission RTUs, RTACs, PACs, and HMIs.
• Design site network and communication architectures compliant with client and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain project schedules, provide progress reports, and lead FAT/SAT testing.
• Coach and mentor junior team members, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in SCADA, automation, or power utility projects.
• Proven ability to work with communication protocols and network architectures.

Required skills

• SCADA platforms: WonderWare, Ignition, web‑based GUIs.
• RTU/RTAC hardware: SEL‑RTAC, Modicon M580.
• Communication protocols: DNP3, Modbus.
• Network equipment: SEL, Ruggedcom, Cisco firewalls and Ethernet switches.
• Tools: Putty, Wireshark, Inkscape, SEL Diagram Builder.
• Experience with network design and implementation; Cisco networking certifications preferred.
